Models strut their stuff for St Clare's
Models will be strutting their stuff in new and vintage clothing next week.
Volunteer fundraisers at St Clare's Hospice, in Jarrow, have organised a Fashion Show at South Shields Town Hall next Tuesday and Wednesday.
The event, which kicks off at 7.15pm, will raise cash for the Jarrow Hospice as well as the Primary Care Trust's Sponsor-a-bed Appeal.
This is the second year the event has been organised.
St Clare's Hospice trustee Enid Apsey, who organised the event with volunteer fundraisers, said: "After the success last year, we knew we had to run it again.
"As well as the parade of new and nearly new clothes, we shall be having stalls selling toiletries, gifts and jewellery all donated by our supporters as well as a raffle and tombola stall."
Plenty of local businesses have shown their support with prizes given from The Barbour Trust; Fenwick; Marks & Spencer, MetroCentre; Westoe Florists; The Riviera Gateshead; Spago Restaurant, Jesmond; Limani and The Vigilant, in South Shields.
Mrs Apsey added: "Last, but by no means least, L'amour Bridal has agreed to supply gowns for our bridesmaids in the finale on Tuesday evening.
"However, their support did not end here. They have donated a wedding gown for us to sell for the benefit of the hospice, so we are open for reasonable offers."
Tracey Peters, from Jarrow, whose partner's mum Vera work in St Clare's shop in the Viking Centre, Jarrow, will be a bride for the night, showing off the gown donated from L'amour.
Tickets are still available, mainly for Wednesday's event, which includes evening wear, priced £2.50 each.
