St. Clare’s Hospice currently benefits from over 300 volunteers who all support the Hospice in a kaleidoscope of different ways from marshalling at fundraising events and raising funds by crossing the Tyne by zip wire, to reading and talking to our Day Care guests or selling donated goods in one of our many Charity Shops.
The role of the volunteer is a much valued one and without volunteers the Hospice, quite simply, would not be able to operate.
Becoming a volunteer with St. Clare’s Hospice can offer great rewards in terms of socialising and learning new skills and can make a difference to your own life and the lives of others.
Full training is provided for all of our voluntary positions and whether you are looking to gain new work experience, develop your career or just want to make some friends we have a variety of roles which may suit you!
Whatever the reason we are always pleased to welcome new volunteers and we have opportunities in the following areas:
Day Care Assistant
Fundraising Ambassador
Receptionist
Administration Assistant
Retail Sales Assistant
Catering Assistant
Counsellor
Chaplain
Gardener
Drivers Mate
We currently have vacancies for retail sales volunteers within our Charity Shops
