St. Clare’s Hospice currently employs 70 staff and 400 volunteers and has a dedicated, skilled and experienced medical and nursing staff who are totally committed to enhancing the quality of life of our patients.

The medical team are backed by a small team of administrative staff who are responsible for fundraising activities, finance, human resources and secretarial support.

Trustee Opportunities - Chair

Description

 St. Clare Hospice has an excellent reputation for providing palliative care for patients living with a terminal illness and is keen to build on this by offering an extended range and scale of the services to the population it serves in South Tyneside.

 The St Clare’s Hospice Board is seeking a new Chair who will be able to contribute to the strategic vision of the charity and who has the skills to support the current and future work of the Hospice.

 This is an exciting and timely opportunity for the right candidate to contribute to the transformation of St Clare’s services and help ensure that the Hospice becomes the lead provider of high quality, personalised care and support to patients and carers in the local community.

Trustee Opportunities - Treasurer

Description

St. Clare Hospice has an excellent reputation for providing palliative care for patients living with a terminal illness and is keen to build on this by offering an extended range and scale of the services to the population it serves south of the Tyne.

The St Clare’s Hospice Board would like to recruit a new treasurer to monitor and oversee the control all aspects of financial management, working closely with other members of the Board of Trustees and the Chief Executive to safeguard the Charity’s finances. 

The Treasurer will also fulfil the duties and responsibilities of a Trustee, ensure the effective governance of the Charity and act as an ambassador of the Charity in partnership with other Board members, the Chief Executive and the St Clare’s Hospice team.

If you are able to demonstrate proven success in your own area of work, you possess excellent strategic skills, have an understanding of good charity governance and the ability to act in the best interests of the charity then please do consider joining the St Clare’s Hospice team.
