St Clare’s Hospice, South Tyneside Foundation Trust and Macmillan are coming together to host activities in the local community to raise awareness of Dying Matters Week.
Dying Matters Week is a national awareness week which encourages us all to talk more openly about death, dying and bereavement and takes place from Monday 14th - Sunday 20th May 2018. This year’s theme is “What can you do in your community?"
We hope to open up the conversation within our own community here in South Tyneside to encourage every to speak honestly and openly about death, dying and bereavement and share with us their thoughts on their own preferences for the future.
Why not get involved by joining us at one of the below activities?
Tuesday 15th May
Ingham Wing Reception, South Tyneside Hospital, 1.30-4.30pm
An interactive session which will provide you with the opportunity to talk about your wishes and preferences for the future, which can be explored further through a creative pebble decorating activity.
Thursday 17th May
The Shed at The Viking Centre, Jarrow, 11am-3pm
Join in the conversation as we explore our personal needs, spiritual care and the meaning of life. There will be an opportunity to meet with other local healthcare organisations, as well as interactive activities including sharing your ‘bucket list’ ideas and wishes.
